DEPUTY MANAGER
Yiota Williams

I have been working in childcare for 23 years, both in nurseries and as a nanny. I am level 3 qualified-working towards a level 5 lead. I still have a love for crafts and creating fun learning experiences for the children. I joined Pippa's House Reigate in April 2024 as room leader. I was recently promoted to Deputy manager in December 2024. I also regularly travel between our Pippa's house nurseries mentoring new members of staff. I come from a huge Greek family, and we all look after each other, which is why I realised at a very young age I wanted to work with children. I am now also mum to baby girl, who attends Pippa’s house. Honestly when looking for a new position for myself, a big part of wanting to work at Pippa’s house was seeing how happy the children were when I visited and how engaging the staff were. I’m really excited to progress my own qualifications within the nursery and to make it as fun as possible for all the children in my care.
VALUING OUR STAFF IS PARAMOUNT ENSURING THEY FEEL APPRECIATED AND SAFE IN THEIR WORKSPACES.
Our diverse staff at Reigate, ranging from Level 6 qualified professionals to apprentices, enjoys a welcoming and supportive work environment. Valuing our staff is paramount, ensuring they feel appreciated and safe in their workspaces. Regular meetings address staff welfare, offering necessary training and support for their journey to becoming exceptional practitioners. Two well-stocked staff rooms, complete with food, hot drinks, sweet treats, and a dedicated study room for those pursuing qualifications, showcase our commitment to going above and beyond for our team.
Our settling babies
Our cosy downstairs rooms provide a secure space for our infants to settle and gradually detach from their caregivers. Our primary focus is on cultivating a homely yet stimulating environment where strong attachments are formed and first steps are taken. Recognising the importance of parental involvement, we value open communication to ensure that established routines are followed as the newest member of the family gets used to nursery life.
Our curious toddlers
Our toddlers are natural investigators, eager to explore and make sense of their surroundings. They use a variety of loose parts and authentic materials to engage in self-directed play and expand their understanding of the world. Through messy play experiences, they enhance their sensory perception and ignite their creativity. Developing physical skills and social confidence, they learn to interact with peers. Outdoor activities contribute to their gross motor skill development and coordination in a fun-filled manner.
Our independent preschoolers
Our eldest children follow a more structured curriculum designed to prepare them for school. They refine their prewriting and prereading skills through tracing exercises, pencil grip improvement, and talking about stories. With their increasing attention spans, they tackle more complex and extended activities. Art and craft activities encourage self-expression and decision-making, while collaborative projects build social skills and teamwork. As they prepare for the next step of their educational journey, we help them to practice the essential self-care routines to ensure a smooth transition to school.
The expansive, closed-off garden at Reigate is a highlight, accessible to all rooms. The Baby Room boasts its own fenced garden, offering a safe outdoor space for little ones to practice walking and explore fresh herbs. Other rooms enjoy access to a large herb and vegetable planter, a forest school section, and an array of outdoor toys and games.
Furthermore, Reigate goes the extra mile by offering extra-curricular activities, including playball and Spanish lessons, for Explorers and Preschool. All rooms have opportunities for outings around the local area, fostering a well-rounded and enriching experience for the children at Reigate.
